The Atlanta Falcons will be without running back Caleb Huntley when veterans report to training camp next week. Huntley, who suffered a torn Achillies late in the 2022 season, was placed on the physically unable to perform list Thursday.
The former undrafted free agent out of Ball State was a quality third option for the Falcons at running back last season, racking up 366 rushing yards and a touchdown before going down in Week 15.
Huntley still has over a month and a half to recover before the regular season begins, so this isn’t a major concern or surprise for the team. Atlanta also recently placed running back Avery Williams on the injured reserve list with a torn ACL.
Even with both players out, there is no real depth concern since the Falcons drafted Bijan Robinson with the No. 8 overall pick in the draft. Tyler Allgeier also returns after his 1,000-yard rookie season in 2022.
