The Falcons did it. They beat the team we all hate the most, the dreaded New Orleans Saints. Desmond Ridder didn’t look fantastic, but his play was adequate. The team got the run game going again. Jessie Bates’ performance earned him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. And if the Falcons can keep this going, they’ll land a playoff spot by virtue of winning the weirdest division in football this season.
Do I have confidence they’ll go anywhere in the postseason? No. But am I confident they could get there? At this point, yes.
