Falcons vs. Giants: John Cominsky out, QB Feleipe Franks is active

Concerning news about Cominsky who has turned into the new Deadrin Senat.

The Falcons are starting at a must-win situation heading into Week 3. Dropping to 0-2 doesn’t leave a lot of room for mistakes. At 0-3, the Falcons need a series of miracles to sniff the playoffs. That means the week’s inactives become even more important than normal.

We knew a few of these earlier in the week: A.J. Terrell, Russell Gage, and Frank Darby were ruled out ahead of Atlanta’s trip to New Jersey.

A few interesting decisions here.

The Falcons are, for the first time all year, making all three quarterbacks active today. Felipe Franks may play today, which only makes sense if Matt Ryan or Josh Rosen were a bit dinged up. Or if Arthur Smith has a package of plays for Franks to see if he can find an offensive spark. That is a bit concerning as the current offense still needs time to get on the same page.

For John Cominsky, this is a completely disappointing designation. Cominsky was a raw player the team selected int he 4th round just over two years back. Based on his potential, he should be in for potentially dominant year. Instead, he can’t even push for time in a bad defensive line. He’s looking like a wasted pick.

For Wayne Gallman, you would hope he would at least make it to the active roster by now. Gallman is a veteran runner with experience in similar schemes. Atlanta has only two backs active with some room for improvement with Mike Davis showing inconsistencies.

For the Giants, there are no notables.

We had eyes on Kenny Golladay and Evan Engram all week, but both are healthy and ready to play today. Golladay, however, is reportedly on a snap count. It is unclear if either will make a big impact coming back from injury, but if history says anything about this Falcons defense, both are in for remarkable days.
