Before they face off in preseason, the Falcons and Titans will practice together.
The Atlanta Falcons will take on the Tennessee Titans at home in Week 2 of preseason They’ll get a closer look at their AFC opponent before kickoff, too.
Raheem Morris announced on Monday that the Falcons will host the Titans for joint practices in the run-up to the game, with those practices slated for Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday, August 13. The preseason game is Friday, August 15 at 7 p.m. EST.
Joint practices have been a fixture in recent years for the Falcons, who spent the past two years in Miami battling it out with the Dolphins in the summer heat. This is the first time they’ve been at home for these joint practices since 2022, when they hosted the Jaguars, and will be the fifth straight year overall. The Falcons also hung out with the Dolphins back in 2021 but didn’t participate in joint practices in 2020 because of COVID-19 restrictions.
While the Titans are unlikely to be a great team in 2025 and probably not particularly likely to be a good one, they do have talent worth watching. The name I’ll be keeping the closest eye on? Top pick Cam Ward, of course, who is hoping to become the first true homegrown franchise quarterback the Titans have had since Steve McNair.
Morris and other coaches have been open about their preferences for the high-intensity reps they get at joint practices with other teams, which Morris prefers to risking injury to starters in particular in preseason games. That means we’ll likely get plenty of updates about how Michael Penix, Bijan Robinson, Jessie Bates, and the gang are doing earlier in the week before we watch them get little-to-no playing time in preseason. Something to look forward to, at least!
The NFL shared the full preseason schedule for the Falcons last week, in case you missed that.
