In our February edition of fantasy takeaways from the running back position, we featured Bijan Robinson and how he became the player we thought he would after being drafted eighth overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2023 NFL Draft. If you are a fan of the hero or anchor running back draft strategy, look no further than Robinson when you start your fantasy drafts. Last season, Robinson arrived on the fantasy scene in a big way, finishing as the overall RB3. We feel this season he will take that to another level and become the league’s top fantasy running back!
Is He The Overall RB1? Bijan Robinson Fantasy Football Outlook
2025 Fantasy Football Profile: Bijan Robinson
2024 In Review
Last season, Bijan Robinson officially arrived as the running back we expected after week 8. Robinson finished 2024 as the overall RB3 at 20.1 points per game, but it was a tale of two halves for him. Robinson averaged just under 15 carries in his first eight games with a 56% rushing share. From week nine on, he averaged just under 21 carries and a 65% rushing share. Robinson scored 11 of his 15 touchdowns after week 8. You can see just how dominant he was in the latter half of 2024. He also became a three-down back, seeing just under an 80% snap rate, and his 61 receptions were third-best in the league.
During the aforementioned time frame, Bijan Robinson’s fantasy points per game average rose from 17.5 to 22.41. To put that in perspective, that 22.41 average would have topped both Saquon Barkley and Jahmyr Gibbs. To tell you that Robinson is a first-round fantasy running back in 2025 is not earth-shattering, but he is more than capable of being the overall RB1, surpassing Barkley and Gibbs.
2025 Projection
Bijan Robinson is forecasted to score 302 fantasy points, on 269 attempts for 1,294 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. In addition, he has averaged 74 targets, 59 receptions, and 2.5 receiving touchdowns in his first two seasons. We are looking at a running back in line for over 300 total touches, making him an anchor for your fantasy team.
To tell you that Robinson is a first-round fantasy running back in 2025 is not earth-shattering. There is a case to be made for him at 1.1. If we again see the elite usage in 2025, Robinson will be this year’s overall RB1 and could potentially flirt with the 2000-yard rushing mark.
Bijan Robinson Fantasy Football ADP
Bijan Robinson’s best ball ADP is varying right now. In Underdog best ball drafts, his ADP is pick four, and on Drafters, he goes at pick three. Robinson continues to climb up the first round; his ADP in February was 1.5, but now is being drafted at the 1.2, and in some cases, the 1.1. We are not alone in the fantasy community in feeling he is the top running back. PFF also has him as the top-rated fantasy running back. We spoke of the negative data prediction on Barkley repeating as the overall RB1. In addition, the statistical probability of Gibbs getting 16 rushing touchdowns on 250 rush attempts is unlikely. Bijan Robinson is the overall RB1 and should be drafted as such!
