Atlanta Falcons fans might be wringing their hands right now as cornerback Jeff Okudah had to be carted off the practice field today.
Scott Bair of the Atlanta Falcons’ official website reported that he went down on the field and had to be helped onto a cart during this morning’s practice session. He was taken to the team locker room with what is believed to be a leg injury.
The Falcons acquired Okudah this past April in a trade with the Detroit Lions. They sent over a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to bring the former No. 3 overall pick into the fold.
Okudah has shown flashes at times but his injuries have kept him from living up to his playing potential. In three seasons he’s played in just 25 games.

At Ohio State, Jeff Okudah was once the best cornerback in the country. During the 2019 season he earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors and was a unanimous All-American.
Okudah was the consensus top cornerback in the 2020 NFL Draft and the Lions and the second defender taken after former Buckeyes teammate Chase Young.
Hopefully this latest injury is just a knock and not something that’s going to keep him out for any length of time. His career doesn’t need another big injury.
