Matt Ryan reportedly wants a new contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
Per Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, Ryan wants a three-year deal with the team.

This makes sense since Ryan’s contract is up after the 2023 season. Still, it’ll be interesting to see what happens now that Atlanta didn’t get Deshaun Watson.
The Falcons looked to be a finalist for him until he threw a curveball and decided to waive his NTC to the Cleveland Browns. Had he gone to Atlanta, that would’ve spelled the end for Ryan there as he’s been with the team his whole career.
The NFL world is having fun with their reactions to this news.
I respect the pettiness https://t.co/lvmAzuCXDc

I hope he is asking for 3 years and to be the highest paid QB in the NFL. https://t.co/yjOtvgLC6y

Hopefully this finally make the falcons move on https://t.co/CfIjIgSDRR

Good on Matt for not backing down, but the #Falcons cannot do this. Trade him to a contender who’ll pay him the money but it can’t be us. If they do pay him, we’re headed nowhere fast(er). https://t.co/KULHw4ZPBD

Ryan took the high road w/ how new regime were handling the DW situation and ended took a win-win situation. Get moved to contender (Colts 👀) or force ATL to pay next three years for their mistakes 🤷🏾♂️. https://t.co/b8tWGlD8ai

That was gonna happen regardless if that trade wasn’t gonna happen. The only way to free up cap space. 3 yr deal, sum guaranteed money for Matt. Free up cap space and that’s that I guess https://t.co/agIvPT86Y7

Would trade him before giving him that https://t.co/3Y06NiNmnd

Ryan is coming off another good season for the Falcons, even though they missed the playoffs. He finished with 3,968 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
There’s still a chance that he’s traded after feeling disrespected since the team willingly tried to replace him with Watson.
If the Falcons do shop Ryan, there will be no shortage of interested teams, especially the Colts and Seahawks.
