After waiting 14 weeks to see rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder, Falcons fans finally got their wish over the final four games of the 2022 NFL season.
Ridder’s four-game stretch wasn’t overly impressive, but it was enough to convince head coach Arthur Smith to go forward with the former third-round pick as his starting QB in 2023.
Obviously, Ridder still has a lot to prove this season and there are areas where he must improve as a passer. Pro Football Focus broke down every starting quarterback’s biggest weakness going into the 2023 season.
Here’s what PFF’s Sam Monson had to say about Ridder:
Throughout the first week of training camp, many on social media have voiced concerns over Ridder’s lack of accuracy and ball placement based on some highlights that leaked from practice.
With three preseason games to play, it’s too early to overreact to a few throws in camp. If these issues were to show up throughout the preseason, though, it would be cause for concern.
The Falcons play their first preseason game in one week when they head to Miami for a matchup against the Dolphins.
