Despite the success he’s had with the Minnesota Vikings, quarterback Kirk Cousins does not appear to have much of a future with the team and is expected to hit free agency this offseason. While he could have many suitors, there appears to be one clear landing spot.
According to Darren Wolfson of SKOR North, the Atlanta Falcons are considered a team to “keep an eye on” for Cousins in the offseason. Per the report, the Falcons are seen as the “logical landing spot” if he does wind up moving on from the Vikings.
Atlanta are certainly in need of a quarterback as they’ve struggled endlessly at the position for several years now. They’re 7-9 with Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke this year, but neither one of them has been particularly impressive.
The Falcons could, of course, draft a quarterback. But if they want to give that quarterback a redshirt year, having Kirk Cousins would allow them to develop a young quarterback probably.
The #Falcons are a team to “keep an eye on” when it comes to the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes this offseason, @DWolfsonKSTP mentioned on @SKORNorth.

Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the middle of the season but was having one of the best seasons of his career when it occurred.
Cousins has taken the Vikings to the playoffs twice since joining the team in 2018, including a trip to the postseason in 2022.
Will he be an ideal fit for the Falcons?
