REPORT: Falcons 4-Time Pro Bowler Drawing Interest

May 17, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Matt Judon

Atlanta Falcons pass rusher Matt Judon is still a free agent, but that could change in the coming days. A four-time Pro Bowler with the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots, the former fifth-round pick spent the 2024 season with the Atlanta Falcons after injuries limited him to just four games in 2023. Unfortunately, he couldn’t recapture his former glory in a new environment, as he finished the season with 5.5 sacks and 41 tackles in 17 games.

With the Falcons double-dipping in the front seven during the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s safe to assume Matt Judon will not return to Atlanta. However, this doesn’t mean his career is over. According to Kyle Odegard of Card Player, multiple teams have shown interest in the veteran. While Odegard’s report doesn’t give any specific names, nobody should be surprised if the former star lands with any of the following organizations.

“I think I can still [play],” Judon said. “But that’s not up to me. I’m not a GM making that decision. I just have to be ready if and when my name is called.”

Possible Fits

Baltimore Ravens

Matt Judon entered the league with the Baltimore Ravens, so it’s only fitting for the veteran to return for his final years. Baltimore has a few reliable edge rushers in Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh, but there’s always room for one more talented veteran. The Ravens love to rotate edge rushers to keep everyone fresh, and Judon should add some much-needed depth to the room. Additionally, Baltimore has a knack for getting the most out of late-season signings, so perhaps Judon can squeeze out one last season of greatness under John Harbaugh.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are not ready to seriously compete, even with first-overall pick Cam Ward replacing Will Levis. However, they must show some signs of life, or head coach Brian Callahan will not return for Year 3. Tennessee had one of the league’s worst pass rushes last year, and they haven’t done much to address the issue in the offseason. Matt Judon might not be the player he once was, but the veteran should be able to start for this underwhelming unit. Maybe Tennessee can catch lightning in a bottle and get one last strong season out of the four-time Pro Bowler.

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers addressed their pass rush with second-round pick Nic Scourton and third-round pick Princely Umanmielen. However, following the release of Jadeveon Clowney, the Panthers could use a cost-controlled veteran to help these young players reach their ceiling. Matt Judon shouldn’t break the bank in free agency, and the former fifth-round pick should thrive in a mentorship role. He can start in the short-term if he needs to, but his age and current abilities won’t prevent Scourton and Umanmielen from seeing the field if they’re ready to contribute from Day 1.
