There’s A Clear Favorite To Sign Quarterback Kirk Cousins

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is slated to become a free agent this offseason and there should be a sizeable market for him given how desperate some teams are for even a serviceable quarterback.

As of right now there is a clear favorite to sign the 35-year-old quarterback to a contract and that’s his current team, the Vikings. Per ProFootballTalk, DraftKings Sportsbook has given the Vikings -200 odds to bring their seven-year starter back into the fold.

However, in the event that the Vikings decide to go in another direction, there is an equally clear favorite from among the new teams.

DraftKings lists the Atlanta Falcons as the best new team to sign Cousins, giving him +300 odds to be their man. No other team has better than +500 odds.

A midseason injury limited Cousins to just eight games. Up until that point he was actually having one of his best seasons, averaging over 290 passing yards per game and completing 69.5-percent of his passes.

The injury ended an eight-year streak of seasons for Cousins with at least 25 touchdown passes. He finished the season with 2,331 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

Suffice it to say, Cousins’ arm hasn’t diminished.

The much bigger question is whether his body will be fully recovered for the 2024 NFL season. He’s dealing with an Achilles injury which can be notoriously slow to heal, particularly for players over the age of 30.

Where will Kirk Cousins be playing in 2024? Will it be the Vikings, or a new team?
