Can the Five Stripes continue their form in Pineda’s first away match as manager?
Atlanta United’s four game home stand began almost one month ago, with yet another new manager and a lackluster 2-0 loss to Nashville SC. The next three games, though, showed a completely revitalized Five Stripes, breezing through opponents with a combined score of 10-2.
Now Gonzalo Pineda leads Atlanta on the road for the first time, travelling to Philadelphia for a midafternoon meeting with the Union, who sit just one point behind United in the Eastern Conference standings. Philadelphia most recently played Atlanta back on June 20th, scoring at the death to tie 2-2 at the Benz. Earlier in the year, the Philadelphia Union knocked out the Five Stripes in the quarterfinal of the CONCACAF Champions League 4-1 on aggregate.
Just like last weekend, the match is set to be broadcast nationally on Univision and TUDN, with an English language Twitter stream on the TUDN USA account.
