Spring game today, recruiting news
It’s hard to believe it has been nearly three months since the last Tidbits article. There’s been a lot going on in my personal life and far too many distractions, but all excuses aside, I will try to get back into the routine of weekly or biweekly articles. Forgive me, as I’m probably far too uninformed on recent Tech sporting news, but I plan to change that and get back to keeping tabs on the latest news impacting the Yellow Jackets sporting world. With that said, let’s get into today’s Tidbits with some recent recruiting news.
Football news is always welcome, and when it is good news like Tech landing a commitment from a four-star offensive lineman, then it is even more welcome. Justin Hasenhuetl of Rabun Gap High School in Georgia recently announced his commitment to Tech and will be part of the 2025 class.
As the article mentions, Hasenhuell is the No. 105 ranked prospect by 247Sports. This is a big commitment for head coach Brent Key as he and his staff continue to add to the 2025 class. The article points out how Tech received its second commitment for the 2025 class when quarterback Grady Adamson announced his commitment last week. A quarterback and a four-star offensive lineman, already? It seems to be a good start to the spring on the recruitment front.
Looking for articles to include in today’s Tidbits, I was pleasantly surprised to come across this one on the FTRS site that previews today’s annual Spring game. I honestly didn’t realize the Spring game was today, so the timing of this article couldn’t have been better. The annual White and Gold game is one of my favorite Tech events, and as this article points out, it’s a great opportunity to see what the team has in store for us fans this year.
There were not too many changes to the offensive coaching staff, whereas the defensive coaching staff was completely overhauled (not a bad thing as the article asserts). With the offense, I’m hopeful it will have significant improvement in Key’s second season at the helm. And, to me, if the defense can play on an equal or better footing with the offense, it could mean we’re in store for quite an interesting season for the Yellow Jackets.
Welcome to the Flats!
