The Atlanta Falcons made a big investment in quarterback Kirk Cousins during free agency before surprising the entire NFL by selecting Washington’s Michael Penix in the first round of the 2024 draft.
Cousins, despite his track record of success, is coming off a torn Achilles and will be 36 when the season begins. While the selection of Penix probably didn’t sit well with Cousins, he can keep the rookie off the field simply by playing good football for the Falcons.
The veteran QB looked healthy in a new clip posted by the team’s Twitter account on Thursday. Cousins was shown firing a pass to wide receiver Darnell Mooney and it was enough to get fans excited for the upcoming season.
